The Role

Major Recruitment Ltd are currently recruiting for an experienced Bar Manager to join a reputable Hospitality company in Leicester. This role is a permanent position and is a challenging role where customer care and high standards always comes first. This position focuses on ensuring the successful delivery of Food and Beverage service across one cocktail bar and cafe. The role is balanced between working operationally within the areas of responsibility and developing and implementing operational standards. A large focus for this role is ensuring continual training and development of team members. You will be responsible for ensuring the business offers a relevant, consistent, on-trend bar service to all guests. Within the role you'll take the time to talk to people, build a genuine rapport and identify exactly what the customers want.

As the Bar Manager, you will need

  • Knowledge of beverage & cocktail preparation
  • Knowledge of beverage laws; food handling standards and safety and sanitation
  • Knowledge of & ability to implement liquor control procedure
  • Ability to convert the knowledge of wines and alcoholic beverages into product sales and service
  • Knowledge of pricing rationale and strategies
  • Knowledge of purchasing, inventory controls, supplies and equipment
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations and safety standards

Your duties will include,

Operational and Administration tasks

  • Works operationally on shift within outlets to ensure the successful delivery of business
  • Regularly leads shifts within outlet
  • Monitor quality of food and beverages served within the outlets
  • Ensures regular, on-going communication is happening in all areas
  • Continually communicate a clear and consistent message regarding departmental goals to produce desired results
  • Ensures promotions occur within outlets that drive sales
  • Ensure stock takes occur and ensures safety of stock and other high value items
  • Creates an atmosphere that supports exceeding guest expectations
  • Empowers team to provide excellent guest service
  • Is highly visible and interfaces with customers on a regular basis to obtain feedback on service levels and overall satisfaction
  • Effectively responds to and resolves guest problems and complaints
  • Completes competitor checks
  • Completes menu engineering and comp set analysis
  • Supports with menu development
  • Ensures ongoing training
  • Produces rotas, ensuring economic utilisation of staff and satisfaction of peak period demand
  • Produces weekly labour forecast that are accurate and within budget

Financial

  • Ensure the Departmental financial Targets are achieved and regularly reviews with team
  • Strive to grow revenues
  • Supports with pricing reviews
  • Gains a full working knowledge of our EPOS to ensure pricing updates are carried out promptly and correctly, and a full knowledge of billing procedures
  • Responsibility for the profitability of the Department, working within a cost of sales budget
  • Responsibility for the payroll in the department and give clear explanation of factors impacting discrepancy from budget
  • Ensures compliance with all local and national regulations.
  • Drive beverage sale initiatives
  • Ensures beverage inventory levels are kept in accordance guidelines
  • Remains flexible to support and work within other food and beverage areas if required

Health & Safety

  • Conform to all Health, Safety and Hygiene rules and regulations including COSHH and drive conformity with team.
  • Ensure communication of the allergen control procedures ensure that hygiene training is provided for all relevant staff.
  • Ensure areas remain clean, hygienic.
  • Supports and drives implementation of related F&B projects that may include the refurbishment and re branding of areas.

The Hours

Working hours as required to do your job not less than 39 hour per week, includes some weekends and evenings.

  • Experience within a similar role

To be considered for this role you must have experience within a bar management role, Food and Beverage "front of house" knowledge and Food and Beverage Service experience at high level.

The Salary

£32,000 - £33,000 basic
