Learning Support Assistant

You're currently working in the classroom supporting young people with SEN and you pride yourself on the contribution you make to children's education. You're a valuable member of the support team and are committed to ensuring all children have equal access to education. Are you seeking a career in education?

The assignment:

  • Supporting children's behaviour for learning
  • Assisting children with their understanding of activities and encourage active participation in class
  • Assisting with note taking
  • A secondary LSA will have exposure to all the curriculum subjects
  • You may work with individual learners in the classroom 1:1 or you may work with individuals or small groups in the Learning Support department.
  • Supporting the pupil's individual needs, according to their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
  • Participating in team meetings and Continual Professional Development (CPD) training provided by the school as an active member of a team
  • Maintaining pupil progress records
  • Supporting regulations pertaining to safeguarding (Department for Education )
