Thanks to continued success in winning and delivering projects, organisation that specialises in HV infrastructure, renewable energy and new connections has a number of requirements for HV Design Engineers, to work either remotely or from their offices in Bristol. The HV Design Engineer will be involved in projects ranging from LV and 11kV up to 132kV, reviewing Contestable Connection Offers from the DNO and designing grid connections for renewable energy sources, such as gas peak power generation and solar farms. Duties: Review of HV grid connection offers Design of DNO and private network new connections and associated HV power network infrastructure from LV up to 132kV Protection and single line diagrams Switchgear and transformer selection and specification Design of cable routes and sizing studies Sizing studies for VT, CT and battery changers Substation layouts Design management Ensure compliance with client requirements, engineering specifications, company policies and legislation Requirements: Degree in Electrical Engineering Experience as an HV Design Engineer within the power distribution / grid connections sector Background using AutoCAD Track record working with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and Independent Connections Providers (ICPs) With this organisation, there are plenty of opportunities for further training, progression and career development as they continue their impressive growth.
