Underwriter - Consumer Finance £21000 - £28000 DOE North West An exciting and challenging position for a highly motivated and energetic individual has arisen with this well-established motor finance brokerage as an Underwriter. You must enjoy working in a very fast-paced, highly flexible, dynamic environment. The company is a well-established motor finance brokerage and provides for opportunities to develop in your role and progress. There is full training within a professional yet fun environment. This is a hybrid role with time split between the office and home working. The ideal candidate will operate in accordance with the company s underwriting and fraud prevention policies. Decisions will be made in accordance with the Lending Policies within the agreed mandate levels in an accurate and timely manner and the candidate will ensure these are met and that all new business opportunities are optimised through good negotiation skills and excellent interaction with clients and customers. Skillset Flexibility enthusiasm and a strong team player analytical and critical reasoning skills computer literacy including MS Office sensible judgement confident decision making skills ability to relate policy provisions to credit exposures proven numeracy skills Key requirements An in-depth knowledge of consumer lending Previous experience within an FCA regulated environment is desirable Excellent attention to detail and communication is essential You will possess the ability to conduct risk assessments, make lending decisions in line with TCF principles, wider economic factors regarding lending guidelines and the company's strategies. provide colleagues and customers with a professional and efficient service in an enthusiastic and knowledgeable manner at all times. maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of Consumer Finance products and services within the industry and apply them to your role at all times. ensure that all referred applications have relevant procedural checks as highlighted, both system / and manual as necessary e.g. Credit Reference Bureau, CIFAS, employment confirmation etc. are utilized ensuring all information, and documentation is accurate. ensure individual productivity records are maintained accurately. products and services (e.g. Money Laundering, Data Protection, etc.). ensure individual productivity records are maintained in an accurate and timely manner. maintain an up-to-date knowledge of regulatory and legislative information related to Consumer Finance products and services (e.g. Money Laundering, Data Protection, etc.). pro-actively contact customers for further information or clarification to meet lending conditions in accordance to company SLA and will be required to review and verify documentation received to support credit applications. be expected to deliver impeccable levels of customer service and represent the company s brand and ethos appropriately at first point of contact and throughout the customer journey. possess the skills to maximize conversion rates through building rapport and be able to handle objections and be able to provide assistance to all clients and customers throughout their journey, via all company medium and platforms provide accurate information on products and services to ensure consistency across the organisation and provide both a reliable and ethical service in all their engagements. prepare customer application packs promptly to complete the application journey promote the lending business, its culture, its products and services, to build the highest levels of trust and brand reputation with its clients and customers. undertake any other reasonable tasks as requested by Management.
